The opportunityCamcare is a program within AccessHC that provides a suite of services – wellbeing counselling and case management, material aid, support for new mums, and information and advice to residents of the City of Boroondara and surrounding suburbs. Camcare's Integrated Family Services (IFS) program works across the Municipalities of Boroondara, Manningham, Monash and Whitehorse.The Senior Integrated Family Services (IFS) Case Worker is responsible for providing mentoring, coaching, consultation and support to IFS Case Workers, whilst also managing a personal caseload of children and families with a higher level of complexity. The role may play a key part in clinical reviews and case allocations. The Senior Case Worker will also liaise with Child Protection, the Inner East IFS Alliance, and other local agencies as directed by the Manager of Family and Parenting Services.This is role gives the flexibility to be either a Permanent Full or Part time position based in Camberwell. What you will be doingProvide mentoring, case consultation, information, advice and guidance to colleagues to support day to day operational management and planning to colleagues as agreedAct up as Parenting and Family Services Manager as agreedWhere required provide Field education and Supervision and support to placement students to support workforce developmentAttend all initial home visits and other home visits as agree with Manager of Parenting and Family Services with IFS Case workersAttend all initial home visits and other home visits as agree with Manager of Parenting and Family Services with IFS Case workersWork within a Child-focused, Family-centred approach to service deliveryUtilize a full range of outreach strategies in order to engage with families who may be reluctant to use the serviceProvide an in-home and agency-based service as requiredWork with families to strengthen parent capability to provide basic care, ensure safety and promote their child’s developmentEstablish a working relationship with families that demonstrates respect and honest communication, particularly about protective concerns and consequencesNegotiate realistic and achievable Child and Family Action Plans, in consultation with all family members ensuring active participation in decision making; and the inclusion of other relevant parties, which will be reviewed during the intervention periodUndertake comprehensive strengths-based needs assessment of client families, with a particular focus on families with a higher level of vulnerability and level of complexity risk assessment for high need cases; incorporate both the individual and systemic perspectiveUndertake case management responsibilities, where appropriateConsult where necessary with DHHS Community Based Senior Child Protection Practitioners (CBSCPP)Work together with families to improve community connections and access to community resourcesEnsure familiarity with a range of recognized, relevant therapeutic approaches and strategies, relevant to working with familiesWhat you will bring Demonstrated experience in the Community Services Sector, in particular in the Child and Family Welfare SystemDemonstrated skills in risk assessment and understanding of the Best Interests Case Practice frameworkKnowledge of attachment and trauma would be highly desirableDemonstrated theoretical understanding and experience of individual and systemic casework practiceExperience in working with families in crisis, including a capacity to practice active engagementExperience and/or qualifications in Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, psychology or equivalent or related disciplineEligibility for AASW, APS or an equivalent professional associationSound understanding and working knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005 and other relevant legislationProficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications Apply NowPlease reach out to for further information and/or the opportunity to discuss this role.
